Smoke on the Water

Big update! I guess I'll begin with the title. In the oasis, if you use the flamethrower, the flames will turn into smoke, like so:

I finished the oasis level completely, so here are the other two screenshots:

The floating things are clams. Originally, their mouths are open, but if you shoot them enough times they will close, allowing you to use them like stepping stones. Well, yeah. Maybe this wasn't such a big update. Just kidding, this is huge, you haven't seen nothing yet!

Oh, a eh sees.

Sorry for not posting yesterday, but I got held up with some personal businness and I got my wacom tablet, plus let's say that yesteday wasn't my best day. So, I bring the update today! It's still very WIP, but here is the Oasis so far:

Enemies unique to this section will be a clam that shoots you. You have to shoot it in the mouth, and then it's close and you can step on it. Another enemy will be a crab, it will shoot out of it's claws, like in Sonic the Hedgehog 1. I already drew the clam, but not the crab. I just got my tablet, so my concept art is horrible, but, I'm learning.

Motor oil in the water!

I spent most of my day today working on levels in Scratch, so I don't really have many things to post here. However, since I'm getting close to one of the oases (yes it's not "oasises") where the denizens of the city used to get their water from, I created a little motor which goes at the ends of the pipes to push the water through the pipes. Here it is:

It has a pretty simple animation, but, you know, I was lazy, and watcha gonna do, right? I'll get to work on the actual oasis tomorrow, should be fun :). Oh, and you can't swim, so you basically sink to the bottom. Bummer. Here's a screenshot of some more pipes.

Piping = $200,000; Water = Priceless

I used my pipes to create a water system. The people who used to live in the core of the Earth had to get water, so they used pipes to transport their water into their well, as you can see here:

The pipes are still intact, and as you explore deeper into the earth, you will see more intricate patterns and junctions of pipes designed to take all that water back to the land of Oz old city. I hope that adds some incentive to go places you might not have thought of going to before. Well, I will now leave, but before I do, here's another screenshot of pipes:

Who's your favorite plumber now?

Haha. No offense to Nintendo or Mario, but I just finished some pipes to add in Scratch, I think they look pretty neat. Here's a little sample I made with them:

So yeah, they tile perfectly right now, I'm just not sure where to add them, but I'll find a place. I'll keep you guys updated :). Also, here's the full tile-set:

It's not done yet, I have to add the parts that connect 3 pipes. So don't steal YET. Wait a little bit.
